The 2022 season for Alsace was marked by intense heat waves. Intermittent rainfall prevented drought, allowing the grapes to achieve full phenolic ripeness while retaining vibrant natural acidity. By August, conditions started to cool and the grapes retained a vibrant acidity and achieved full phenolic ripeness. The harvest was slightly earlier than usual and the resulting fruit was aromatic and intensely concentrated. Each parcel is individually selected to ensure the best quality for this Réserve wine. Fermentation took place at temperatures of 16-18°C for three weeks with indigenous yeasts. The wine was then aged on its fine lees in stainless-steel tanks for three months, before careful filtration and bottling.

Under the guidance of the cooperative's winemakers, the Riesling Réserve is crafted with a light hand, avoiding oak to let the varietal's true character shine through. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts and ageing on fine lees in stainless-steel tanks for three months highlights the wine's natural flavours and aromas.

This dry Alsatian Riesling pairs excellently with a variety of dishes, from fish tacos and sushi to smoked fish and goat cheese, thanks to its fresh acidity and complex aromatics.

Riesling is a grape of German origin that thrives in Alsace, producing aromatic wines which range from dry to sweet. Riesling is grown the world over, producing delicious complex fresh wines.

The Alsace wine region has a semi-continental climate which stays sunny and dry throughout the growing season. The slopes at Hunawihr are some of the most celebrated in Alsace. Fruit is sourced from 25-year-old vines grown in vineyards which run along the south-east facing hillside slopes around the village. The vineyards are located on a geological fault line across Ribeauvillé, on soils composed of clay limestone and marl with overlying chalk gravel.
